For the Love of Yarn 

My name is Laura Sortwell, and I am the creative designer behind this website.  I would love to share my story with you. 

I am wife to Bram; stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of  six kids, one in heaven, & a fur baby.  I started For the Love of Yarn as a way to make a little extra money on the side. I love to crochet and am still learning how to knit.  My late grandmother taught me how to knit at age 12, and from that came a desire to learn how to crochet.  My mother bought me a book, a hook, and some yarn; and my passion blossomed from there.  

Crochet is so beautiful.  If you know the basic stitches and guidelines, you can create anything!  I also am totally in love with yarn!  I love to feel the fibers running through my fingers, I love all the bright, bold, beautiful colors yarn comes in.  Yarn comes in all kinds of different fiber blends as well.  Take me to a craft or yarn store and I would be there for hours!  I enjoy creating products that others can enjoy.
